Most ladies get their fashion sense from other ladies. They will do the strangest of things for fashion. The heels make you look sexy and gorgeous and guys simply can’t just resist. They have actually become part of the fashion of day.
I was at a dinner last semester where for the first time I saw this incident happen. I had only seen it on TV where it happened to some models. Jane lost balance in an attempt to stand but her reflexes were sharper so she was able to support her body with her arms from hitting the ground. The situation drew the attention of many. Everything seemed well when she was helped back to her feet but just after she had taken a step, she screamed and lifted her right leg. It was very pathetic.
The incident generated a lengthy discussion on my table. Jane made me know most girls go through pain when on the heels but will only endure it for fashion sake.
High heels have become so popular especially with celebrities but there may be a steep price to pay in the long term. Though other ladies are ignorant of the associated risks, some are aware but maybe not of the more serious risks.
Most are aware of the problems to the ankles, knees, and back. Even these problems just like little drops of water make a mighty ocean, could give you a shock of your life. God created the foot such that, the weight of the body will be distributed evenly at the feet to support your body assume the best posture. Now with the heels, the whole weight is transmitted down to the sole of the foot mounting a lot of pressure there. The higher the heels, the greater the pressure.
Also when the heels are pointed, the situation becomes even worse. One serious problem here is that, the Achilles tendon shortens and causes so much pain in an attempt to place the foot flat on the ground again. If this continues for a long time, the tendon could lose its function making it difficult for you to put on flat shoes.
Now you may not know, but the heels could cause you fertility problems. Heels of over five inches force you assume an unnatural posture in that the pelvis is forced to tilt forward. This alone even causes back ache. The pelvis is like a bucket containing some important organs like the uterus (womb), urinary bladder, ovaries etc. each with its own space to operate. When it tilts forward, then its organs are also forced to rest on one another.
According to Dax Moy; a UK leading performance lifestyle coach, this can slow down gastric (stomach) function, it could also cause menstrual dysfunction and ultimately impair fertility. The chances of conception when the abdominal contents have been thrust forward goes down.
Aside from that, once the heels are raised so high, your centre of gravity is pushed forward. In order to compensate for this, you have to bend your lower back so that you don’t topple over. This keeps your back muscles in constant state of contraction. As a result, fluid flow to pelvic organs is prevented or slowed down. Also the ligaments that support the uterus are pulled causing the uterus to get out of place- fertility becomes a problem.
Now to add to that, when your back is bent forward, it changes the position of your spine (backbone) putting pressure on nerves at the back. It could lead to Sciatica; a painful condition where nerves become trapped triggering pain and numbness down to the feet. These indeed are very serious problems your heels could cause you.
You may have seen of late that your calves or another’s are getting bigger. One reason could be your heels. The constant contraction of the calf muscles makes them increase in mass to be able to overcome the force. You can liken it to the weight lifters. This could take away the sexy look of your legs admired by people.
Now look at your feet, if you are wearing some shoes which you will never use for a driving test, then never wear them either. Most ladies choose fashion over safety. The heel of the foot is supposed to rest on the floor of the car. This makes it easier to move the foot between the brake and gas pedals. High heels make this nearly impossible. The heel can get jammed under the pedal and will require that you lift your entire foot off the floor before you can press the pedal down. More to the point, only your toes rest on the pedal. For this reason you may not apply enough force on the brake pedal. Remember that sometimes you only have a split second to react. It could be of disadvantage to you if you are not in the right shoes.
If the heels are your only choice of shoes, then i guess you will have to think twice. They should not form part of your outfit regularly. Better still do away with them for a healthy body. The least fault when on heels could put you in misery. A permanent mark is left on you then you will realise that the high heel is a killer.
