Faith is the propelling tool to salvation among some religions. This indeed is the reason devout believers hold on firmly to it. Faith without righteousness and reasoning is an obscure life of a so-called believer. Isn’t faith what closes the mind and heart to every form of evil? Isn’t faith rather suppose to open up the heart and mind to be filled with compassion and love to save the dying?
I read a news item published by “dailymail.co.uk” on April 7, 2015 about a pregnant mother who haven been diagnosed with leukemia, refused blood transfusion in order to enable her give birth as well as have the disease managed. She insisted it was against her faith and so died together with the baby a preventable death. This is the time when medical personnel question their reason for taking up the profession. Is it to save lives or to watch lives perish in preventable situations?
Growing up as a child, I heard of some group of believers who had religious issues pertaining to blood transfusions and so never agree to it. Till today I still don’t have any convincing explanation to this belief. Martyrs according to some group of believers were people who were KILLED because of their faith but then for people to refuse treatment and die out of faith, I ask what kind of faith is it? Even to the extent that you careless about the innocent, living and unborn soul? For God sake, should the innocent one be denied earthly existence because of your so-called belief? Medical professionals do not give life, they only save lives and they do that not out of their might but by divine intervention. So if you receive treatment and you still survive, trust me – Allah spared you life not the doctor. God does the healing and the doctor takes the fame. Why then should you choose dying a preventable death?
For me, the mother committed both murder and suicide. Yes! She committed murder by refusing the transfusion to save the life of the foetus. She committed suicide by refusing the transfusion to save her own life. Faith is innocent, it is a belief and a belief with a call to exhibit righteousness in the sight of the Creator. It is what fills you with compassion to save lives. Faith is what makes you believe the impossible is possible. Therefore faith should rather let you see that blood as the blood of the Divine Healer which will bring you healing. Faith should let you see the doctors as instrument used by the Giver-of-life to bring you healing.
Faith is the reason some people survive very deadly diseases – not the doctors nor the nurses.
Help save the lives of the innocent children. A religious parent who believes that love is the greatest of all, will save the live of their unborn child.
