The Ghana Association of University Administrators, (GAUA) has received a writ of summons from the Accra High Court to appear in court on Friday.
The Writ was filed by the National Labour Commission, (NLC) against the University Administrators, for failing to comply with an earlier order from the Commission to resume work.
The University Administrators have been on strike in protest of their current working conditions following their migration onto the Single Spine Salary Structure.
According to the NLC, going to court has become necessary because the administrators refused to return to the negotiating table thus making the strike illegal.
However the President of the University Administrators Association, Gordon Mensah told Citi News they are hopeful of winning the case.
“We have been summoned so we will appear in court on Friday to listen to what they have to tell us”, said Mr. Mensah.
