Inter Schools and Colleges Athletics Competition is ongoing as schools in Zone 2 battled it out for a place in the Super Zonals which will take place after the stipulated number of school have qualified from the zones.
The Baba Yara stadium was full of exciting runs and dashes as students run their hearts out to pull their respective schools through to the ultimate competition.
After 2 days of hoofing and puffing, K. T. I led the pack with 118pts in the boys division. Kumasi Academy came 2nd with 117.5pts. In 3rd place was KNUST SHS with 115.5pts.
OKESS made the cut with 82pts while Dwamena Akenten and Adventist – Kumasi places 5th and 6th with 38pts and 37pts respectively.
In the girls division, Kumasi Wesley Girls won the zone with 238pts. KNUST SHS followed in a distant 2nd with 97pts. OKESS places 3rd with 80pts while Akumadan SHS qualified with 64pts.
Kumasi Academy made 5th place with 53pts and Serwaa Nyarko joined the pack in 6th place with 46pts.
Schools in Zones 3 and 4 will compete at the Baba Yara stadium in the coming week to decide which schools will join the rest in the Super Zonals.
