Gensar Power Plant Company signs MOU with KNUST

gensar powerGensar Power Plant, a fully Ghanaian owned Energy Company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the College of Engineering, (COE) of KNUST. The Memorandum of Understanding among other things seeks to encourage Ghanaian engineering students to excel in engineering disciplines by giving awards to good students, offering internships, national service and graduate employment.

 

Again, it would also help give concessionary admissions to students from deprived areas of the Chief Executive Officer of Gensar Power Plant, Nana Osae Nyampong IV to pursue engineering programmes.

Professor William Otoo Ellis, the Vice- Chancellor lauded the efforts of the Gensar Delegation. He commended them for partnering KNUST to promote technology education in Ghana. He however urged them to do more to make their presence felt in the University by initiating more projects.

Chief Executive Officer, Nana Osae Nyanpong IV, said Gensar is a Ghanaian private company established five years ago to solve some of the energy challenges facing the country and Africa. Nana Nyanpong said his company realised that KNUST’s products play a critical role in the energy sector, it was therefore necessary to support the institution which produces energy experts to help the energy sector in the future.

Nana Nyanpong was accompanied by Frances Miller Rogoz, Business Development Manager, Samuel Kwaw Ansah, Managing Director, and Abena Darfour, Deputy Business Manager.

Present at the Ceremony were the Acting Provost of the COE, Professor Abeku Brew- Hammond and some Senior members of his College.
