The Ghana National Association of Adventist Students (GNAAS), KNUST branch has held its 7th Annual Bible Lecture Series (BLS). It is a week-long programme held in the second semester of every academic year.
This programme is aimed at reaching the university community with crucial biblical truths in obedience to the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. The 2013 edition of the BLS with the central theme “Imitations of Christ” had Pastor Dr. Andrews Lawrence Ewoo, an international evangelist of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the presenter of the GTV “Encounter with Truth” programme as guest speaker. In attendance were Seventh Day Adventist students and staff, alumni of GNAAS-KNUST, invited non-Adventist students, and members from local Seventh Day Adventist churches around KNUST. This year’s BLS was streamed live at knust.gnaas.org to afford people living beyond the frontiers of KNUST the opportunity to access the various presentations by Pr. Dr. Ewoo. The Protestant Chaplain of KNUST, Rev. Dr. Paul Boafo also graced the programme with his presence.
The various topics discussed included “Imitate His Sacrifice”, “Imitate His Lifestyle”, “Imitate His Choice”, “Accept His Offer”, “Accept His Invitation”, “Accept His Adoption” and “Imitate His Worship”. Pr Dr Ewoo challenged the audience to allow the Holy Spirit and nothing else to guide their lives. Desire for material things, money, power, and human approval would lead them to neglect humility, kindness, forgiveness, service to mankind, patience and cleanliness.

Dr. Ewoo revealed the deceptive schemes of Satan under a presentation titled “If I were the Devil, what would I do?” which drew the attention of the audience to the tricks the devil uses to divert the attention of Christians. Dr Ewoo explained that the devil substitutes true Christian principles and sacred worship with false doctrines through the agencies of false prophets and their false prophecies.
A total number of eighty-five (85) people were baptized at the end of the programme into the family of God’s people.
