HFC bank is partnering the Centre for Business Development of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to unearth and develop entrepreneurs from among the students.
The agreement between the two parties involves a tune of a hundred thousand dollars(100,000) for a three year sponsorship deal.

Though negotiation and consideration are still underway, the bank has already coughed out fifty thousand Ghana Cedis (50,000) as a seed capital.

The move by the local bank is geared to contributing to addressing the increase in graduate unemployment confronting the country in recent times.

In this light, the university under the auspices of the Centerfor Business Development and the College Of Arts And Social Sciencessince 2011 organizes an annual entrepreneurship clinic for especially final year students.

The clinic brings experts and persons who have made it through the thick and thin in the Ghanaian economy to talk and inspire students.

Since its inception, it has featured persons like the Philip Sowah (Airtel Boss), Kofi Bentil (Vice President of Imani-Ghana), Combert and Albert Ocran and Roland Agambire (CEO RLG Communications).

Kumasi Incubator is another entrepreneurship programme by the Center for Business Development which seeks to help students with good ideas but need support.

The programme houses the individual, help nurture the idea, coach and train him or her and at the long run give the person money to kick start the business.

To boost the project, a fund known as the Entrepreneurship Development Fund also falls under the Kumasi incubator has been created to assist this worthy course.

It is in this vein that the local bank, HFC has pledged it support for the next three years.
This means the bank will automatically become the title sponsor of the annual entrepreneurship clinic held for final year students in the university.

Head of Retail Business in the Northern Sector, Daniel Obeng made the donation in favour of the bank at the final day of the five week entrepreneurship clinic held in the school.

He believes it is high time financial institutions supported the development of the next crop of businessmen to help the economy.

Head of the Centre for Business Development, Ralph Nyado Addo welcomed the money and promised his outfit will make judicious use of the money in promoting entrepreneurship from among the students.
