He opened this year’s programme by speaking on the topic; “the current job market in Ghana and it implication to graduates”.

Kofi Bentil explained that the solution to Ghana’s socio-economic challenges is for young graduates to eschew what he describes as the ‘quick money’ syndrome and set to work with the ambition to succeed.

Immediately after school, graduates are presented with the option of deciding between the private or public sector.

Therefore Mr. Bentil believes whether the private or public sector, students must look within themselves first and stop putting their focus money.

Though he acknowledges opportunities in the private sector are brighter than the public, he advised that persons who have good intentions and are ready to serve could opt for public sector.

He believes only when persons he describes as young, smart, ambitious and willing-to-work decide to enter the public sector, the sector will remain in mediocrity and unproductive.

He also advised the gathering not to fear but be bold in the decision they take since it is critical for their future.

CEO of Cleaning Solutions, one of Ghana’s leading cleaning companies, Mr. Kofi Atua Ankama-Asamoah, took turn to speak on some critical things students must look out for in starting a business.
In his speech, he likened entrepreneurship to wooing a lady. He believes any person who is able to go through the scrutiny, hustle and tussle and stress ladies take guys through before they accept their proposal is very critical to a successful business.

For him, all these traits; perseverance, determination and risk guys exhibit during the period to ensure they get these girls are good virtues requisite to starting and managing a business.

They spoke at the first day of the annual entrepreneurship clinic being organized by the KNUST Centre for Business Development in partnership with HFC.

The event which begun three years ago have seen seasoned businessmen from all facet of the economic divide come to the school to inspire prospective graduates.
