The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is solely funding the construction of a Police Post at Ayeduase, a community close to the University.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor W.O. Ellis in consultation with the Regional police command and the chiefs of Ayeduase mooted the idea in wake of increasing number of reports of thievery amongst non-residential students of the University.

He indicated it was only proper to construct such a facility as first point of call for the Ayeduase Community.

Prof. Ellis is optimistic the police post will augment the already waterproof security network on campus and also give residents of Ayeduase the needed complaint outfit especially non-residential students who make up 60% of the community.

The Vice Chancellor admits its one of the many institutional responsibilities the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science Technology would embark on and thanked the chiefs and people of Ayeduase for providing land and space for the project.

He also thanked the Ashanti Regional Police command for providing personnel who will man the new Police Post.
