A GH¢ 2.6 million auditorium built by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Business has been inaugurated at a ceremony in Kumasi.

The facility, which has a sitting capacity of 1,200, was implemented with internally-generated-funds.

Professor Joseph Magnus Frimpong, the Dean, said the School would continue to work hard to bring in money to meet its development needs.

He said the School of Business has signed an agreement with the University and the United Kingdom (UK) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) leading to the accreditation of the School as a professional study centre to run CIPS programmes.

He said a delegation from the Institute has already visited the School to assess their facilities.

Professor Frimpong said it was the resolve of the School to produce high calibre graduates with hands-on knowledge and expertise in management and entrepreneurial orientation.

He said the School would not only continue to introduce innovative and market-driven courses but enter into partnerships with internationally recognized academic institutions to achieve this goal.

The School’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is currently oversubscribed due to the quality of its tuition, he said.

Prof William Otoo Ellis, Vice-Chancellor of the University, said it was refreshing to note the giant strides being made by the School of Business and its quality graduates to drive industrial and socio-economic progress.

He urged the School continue to place premium on research activities and come out with problem-solving ideas to benefit industry and the national economy.
