
Members of the Optometry Students Association of Ghana (OSAG) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on October 9, 2014 organized a free eye screening exercise for the entire university community.
The exercise which is part of their observation of the World Sight Day will continue on Friday.

According to the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), 39 million people worldwide are blind. Out of this, 31 million of these cases were preventable.
By estimation, 4 out of every 5 cases of blindness are preventable.
Speaking to myJCR News, Mr. Prince Akowuah, an executive of OSAG-KNUST, advised the public to make it a habit of going for regular eye check-ups since the eye is one of the important sense organs of humans.
