The College of Art and Social Sciences (CASS) KNUST, in collaboration with the Centre for Business Development (CBD) KNUST, has organized the 2nd Entrepreneurship Clinic for all final year students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and students from other tertiary institutions in the country. The programme seeks to create awareness of opportunities, challenges, characteristics, attitudes and skills needed for successful entrepreneurship and venture creation.
Ralph Nyadu-Addo, Head of CBD, said that the programme, the second of its kind, was aimed not only at educating students with general knowledge in all aspects of entrepreneurship and small business management but also at throwing more light on professional and business ethics. Some highly accomplished business practitioners and entrepreneurs were selected to share their experiences through teaching, coaching and mentoring.
These people included the Managing Directors of Airtel Ghana, Beige Capital Savings and Loans, Home Finance Company (HFC) Bank, FIO Enterprises Limited, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Unique Trust (UT) Bank, Roagam Links Group (Rlg) Communications Limited, Type Company Limited, Gemini Life Insurance Company (GLICO) and KESSBEN Group of Companies.
This year’s clinic, which started from 1st February 2013, also introduces the “Company Day”, an innovative addition, which creates a platform for companies to mount Career Desks and have interactive sessions with the students. The clinic is expected to end on the 8th March 2013.
