Socialization 2015…Just ‘flooooowww’

Last Saturday, the 31st day of January 2015, was memorable for students of Computer, Electrical and Telecom Engineering of KNUST as we joined together to unwind from crippling stress and fatigue at the KNUST poolside, rolling out our socialization in grand style. For the final year students, there’s no doubting this was probably the best ever.

You should have just been there to see Cleco (Comp 3) exhibit his prowess at FIFA 15, emerging winner with 1 – 0 and 2 – 1 score against his opponent in the episodes that featured him. ‘meehhnn’…he made me proud…(#blushing).

Inside the pool, Michael Affare, Class Rep of Comp 3, utterly stunned me with his fish-diving skills. Not even South Africa’s Chad Le Clos would come close. I’m sure if you had seen the ‘BossLady’ frightened as much as she was as she stepped into the pool for the very first time in her life, you would have considered changing that title, nonetheless she’s still ‘the BossLady’…(#wink).

The spectators, spearheaded by Bameke Daniel Babalola (Electrical 4), former ELEESA President, settled for indoor games amidst chatting, ice cream, and budding friendships.

I made a couple of friends though. Atta and Kofi, both of Telecom 2 and Van-David of Electrical 1. A few others whose names I don’t quite remember. Mr. Selassie Agbemenu, Lecturer and Patron of Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) passed by briefly to register his support. GESA Veep, popularly known as ‘Sticks’ as well as Tayo, 2013 SRC Presidential aspirant and ex-President of Business School, also made it a point to be there.

Then came the tasty food and chilled drinks. We swam, ate, danced, laughed, talked heartily, and played hard till there was nothing more to be done.

On the other hand, feet moved unconsciously at the sounds and beats from the music and for once I knew all famous Andy Dosty had graced the occasion only for me to rush to the podium to realise otherwise. Stephen Joe Ampah and Justice Ohene Akoto, aka Flow (both of Electrical 3) together with their crew executed the ‘DeeJaying and Emceeing’ task with such exquisite aptitude, talent that came so effortlessly. Guys, thumbs-up!!!

Many thanks also to the executives of ACES, ELEESA, and TELESA, ably headed by Stephen Boosuro, Justice Ohene-Akoto (Flow) and Stephen Obeng Junior respectively for organizing such a ‘tension-releasing’ event. Thanks to a special friend, Bukky (Comp 3) for keeping me much company. The curtains were brought down at about 6pm. To those who missed, I can’t promise you would have such fun next time. Just stick around the ‘hangover’ trickling down from us who made it.
