As a follow-up to the health screening exercise undertaken by the Alumni Association of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) known as Teknokrats, ahead of the 8th Biennial Congress held in October, the Association has donated assorted drugs to the Ayeduase Community Clinic near KNUST.
Festus Nyame, Alumni Officer, together with some global and chapter executives made the presentation on behalf of the global association. Mr. Nyame said the drugs valued at five thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 5,000) were to help improve the drug stock of the clinic. He noted that the clinic which was under-resourced not only served the natives, but also students and staff of the University. The donation therefore was in the right direction.
The drugs included pain killers, malaria drugs, dietary supplements and blood tonic. Others were cotton wool, dewormers and tacizol.
Mavis Britwum, Metro Pharmacist together with Regina Lily Loglo, Officer-in-Charge of the Clinic, received the drugs for the clinic.
Mrs. Regina Lily Loglo expressed her outfit’s appreciation for the donation. Mrs. Loglo revealed that this was the first time the clinic had received a donation of drugs and that the drugs would be used for the intended purpose. Also she promised that the clinic would continue to offer quality service to the general public and students.
Nana Oduro, the Adontenhene and Nana Dwantoahemaa together with some elders of Ayeduase also expressed their gratitude to the alumni and the University for the good relationship existing between them.
Management and Alumni Association of KNUST wishes to express their profound gratitude to the sponsors who made the donation possible. They are Amponsah Effah, Pokupharma, Palb, Panacea Pharmacy and SAQS pharmacy. Others are Bandy Lansah and Tradewinds Chemists.
