An alumnus of the University of Ghana, Mr. Lawrence Addo, has presented a cheque for GH¢25,000 to support needy brilliant students of the University.

Mr. Lawrence Addo, Chief Executive Officer of Relish Health Foods, noted that he had increased the donation by an additional GH¢5,000 despite some challenges he faced in his business last year. Mr. Addo emphasized the fact that education enhances social mobility and he was therefore glad to be able to support students who are brilliant but have funding challenges. He hoped that the increment would provide adequate support for beneficiary students.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. James Adomako, who received the donation on behalf of the University, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Addo for the kind gesture. He expressed the hope that as Mr. Addo’s business grows, he will be able to support more brilliant needy students.

The brief presentation ceremony was attended by Ms. Pascaline Songsore, an Assistant Registrar at the Public Affairs Directorate and Mrs. Maame Efua Ocansey, Fundraiser at the Student Financial Aid Office who both expressed gratitude to Mr. Addo for the continuous generous support as well as wished him well in his endeavours.
