– Final year pharmacy student of Legon dies in a pool on campus

myJCR has confirmed that Kwame Oduro Newman, a final year pharmacy student of University of Ghana, Legon passed out in a pool incident on campus on Saturday, December 1, 2012. He completed Opoku Ware School, Kumasi with school number BJ 252. According to his friends, Kwame was the best swimmer amongst them. Nobody knows wot happened in the pool.

According to his older brother, Okatakyie Osei Adjei (AN 144), Kwame has never tasted alcohol.  He was a bright student who did Brilliant Science Quiz for OWASS and topped his pharmacy class last semester.

myJCR recalls that three (3) months ago, we lost an Okatakyie (Boamah of ‘BC’ year group) in the same pool incident.

Our sincere condolence to the families and the whole Akatakyie fraternity.

Akatakyie, Rest in Perfect Peace!
