The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, has donated 30 Dell flat screen computers to the Christ Ambassadors School located at Oyarifa, on behalf of the University. The brief presentation ceremony was held at the forecourt of the University of Ghana Computing Systems.
Professor Ernest Aryeetey described the donation as an important gesture from the University, to enable the students have the chance of using computers in order to have quick access to information and to be at pace with the world. He noted that he was happy to be in a position to help the students.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Akosua Akanbek who received the computers on behalf of the school, expressed her gratitude to the University for the kind gesture. She assured the Vice-Chancellor that the computers would be put to good use.
The Christ Ambassadors School was established by the late Mrs. Rosina Gepi-Attee, who was a Paediatrician with the Ghana Health Service, to ensure that under privileged children in the community had the opportunity to attain quality education. The School is currently under the trusteeship of Dr. Samuel Gepi-Attee of the Department of Surgery, University of Ghana Medical School ,who was also present to receive the computers on behalf of the school.
