The Student Representative Council of the University of Ghana this week donated pens to final year pupils of the University of Ghana Staff JHS before the commencement of their Basic Education Certificate Examinations.
The SRC executives who visited the school before the examinations motivated the pupils and advised them on how to conduct themselves before, during and after the examinations.
SRC President, Eric Edem Agbana speaking on Radio Univers said the council has met with the headmistress of the school and made arrangements for extra tuition for the pupils in order to up their performance in the BECE.
Records show that pupils of the University Staff JHS have over the last few years not performed so well in the WAEC organized Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE), a situation that provoked the SRC to take action.
According to Mr. Agbana, the SRC has adopted the school as its model school and will take full cost of the extra tuition with the hope that it produces the desired results in terms of BECE results from next year.
