President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday donated a 46 seater Youtong bus to the Old Vandal Association of the University of Ghana, Legon.
This gesture is to help contribute towards the activities of past members of Commonwealth Hall of University of Ghana known as the Old Vandals. President Mahama as a student was a member of Commonwealth Hall (Legon).
President Mahama made the donation after he joined other Old Vandals, in a solemn remembrance service for the late Professor Asenso-Okyere, who was Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana from 2002 to 2006.
Professor Asenso-Okyere died on Saturday May 10, 2014 while on a Food and Agricultural Organisation mission outside Ghana.
The service was also attended by several dignitaries, including Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Minister of education, Prof J.H Kwabena Nketia, Professor Ernest Aryeetey, Vice Chancellor UoG, former officials as well as former Vice Chancellors and Pro-Vice Chancellors of UoG, Officials of UoG and family members.
