8 K’dua Poly students arrested for attacking SHS students

Eight students of the Koforidua Polytechnic in the Eastern Region have been arrested by the Police for allegedly attacking students of the New Juaben Senior High School in Koforidua.

The incident which occurred on Sunday night left about 35 students injured.

The Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Gyamera Yeboah told Citi News preliminary investigations reveal that the polytechnic students were avenging a similar act carried out on them by students from New Juaben Senior High School.

According to DCOP Yeboah, “the students of the Koforidua Polytechnic went to New Juabeng Senior High School and started attacking the students who were in the classroom learning… when they started beating them with sticks, they had to run for their lives and there was a stampede.”

“35 of them were injured and were sent to the hospital and as at today, two of them are still at the hospital on admission. But as to why they went there, some said they went there to learn. We are yet to find out if they went there to learn, how come that some people were injured,” he added.
