An HND Environmental Management and Technology student of the Koforidua Polytechnic Mr. Ebenezer Frimpong has advised Assembly members to eschew blatant partisanship at the assembly level; a worrying incidence which he believes has become an impediment to the development of the various communities in the country.

According to Mr. Ebenezer Frimpong, the trend where people seeking to lead their others at the local assembly level align themselves with political parties is disturbing. He said, people who wish to contest to the various metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies in the country should tell the electorates their capabilities and not what political party they belong to. “Over politicization of the country is the woes of Ghana’s development and should not be encouraged.” he added.

Mr. Ebenezer Frimpong made this known in a press release to announce his intention to contest for the Assembly member position of the Towobotom electoral area in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The 25year old student believes that, its about time the youth of Ghana take the destiny of the country into their hands and salvage the country from the mess it is in now, this according to him is what influenced his decision to contest for the position for the second time after loosing same bid in the 2010 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assembly election.
