PRESS STATEMENT
PUSAG – NDC, NPP AND THEIR SUPPORTERS MUST ACCEPT THE VERDICT OF SUPREME COURT ON THE ELECTION PETITION
The Private Universities Students’ Association of Ghana (PUSAG) with the interest of the nation at heart is charging both NDC – NPP and their supporters to accept the outcome of the supreme court in the ongoing hearing of the election petition, and to therefore desist from any act of violence or chaos in the aftermath of the supreme court’s verdict.
We have reached a certain part of our nation’s destiny where our enviable democracy has been put to it’s strongest test, whereby, a petition has been sent to the supreme court regarding some allegations of irregularities, malpractises and rigging in the aftermath of the recent December, 2012 general elections.
This is not a stalemate in our political history, but, it however serves as an opportunity to once again prove to the continent of Africa and the entire world that Ghana is a citadel of democracy and our beacon is freedom and justice. We have this reputation to protect eternally at this very crucial moments of our destiny. Hence, both political parties executive must call on their party supporters and sympathizers to never endeavour to jeopardize it with whatever cause it may be, and should therefore accept the verdict of the supreme court on the election petition in good faith. Thank you.
