Management of the Tamale College of Education (TACE) is to embark on an expansion of its facilities in the year 2013 to increase student intake.
This will include the rehabilitation and building of new lecture rooms, dormitories and drainage systems.
Alhaji Kasula Yakubu Bukari, Principal of the College disclosed this at an end-of-year party organized for workers of the institution in Tamale.
The occasion which was the first of its kind in the school was used to award some selected staff for their hardwork over the years.
Alhaji Bukari said due to the limited infrastructure in the College it could only admit 285 students.
He said through the guidance of the College Council the TACE had introduced a staff motivation strategy to help improve on the performance of staff.
Alhaji Bukari urged the staff of the institution to maintain discipline and work as a team to help train teachers who would also mould the young ones to propel the development of the nation.
Alhaji Mahama Iddi, Vice Principal of TACE announced that for the first time a student from the College graduated with First Class.
He said a total of 98 per cent of the candidates who took part in the Training College Exams also excelled.
