The office of the Electoral Commission of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has lifted ban on political activities in the school paving way for would be student leaders for the 2014/2015 academic year to start “underground” campaigning.
In a statement released which was signed by Kuubeizong Sistus Tawulme, Chairman of the Electoral Commission and posted on the various notice boards of the school, it said the ban has been lifted with effect from 27th February, 2014.
Meanwhile, open campaign is due to begin on 27th March, 2014 with the general election scheduled on 15th April, 2014.
Information reaching myJCR News indicate that the Ajumako Campus of the school which has hitherto been under the auspices of the Winneba Campus will be electing their separate SRC leaders in this year’s election.
