UCC Acting SRC President resigns

Students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) currently have no Students Representative Council (SRC) President due to the resignation of the Ag. SRC President, Francis Kwabena Arthur, with effect from March 27, 2015.

His resignation follows the determination of the case in court challenging the legitimacy of his position as Ag. S.R.C President of UCC by some students of the University.

In a letter addressed to the Dean of Students of UCC dated 27th March, 2015, Mr. Arthur sought to “step aside” his duties until the final determination of the case which sources say has been adjourned to April 17, 2015 by the High Court in Cape Coast.

The SRC elections were scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 but has now been postponed till further notice.

A similar court issue prevented the election of an SRC President last academic year.
