Staff and students of the Department of Music & Dance of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) recently treated members of the University Community to the finest old and contemporary African performances at the Congregation Grounds, North Campus.
The performances which were in the form of music, dance and drama showcased the rich culture of Ghana and some other African countries to the delight of staff, students and the invited personalities who patronized the programme. It was a night filled with fun as the various artistes stormed the stage with a spectacular performance.
In a classic style, the brass band team of the department thrilled the audience with good tunes to the admiration of the teeming audience. A popular Ghanaian dance “borbor” electrified the programme and at a point some of the audience could not help but rushed to join the dancers on stage. Others could not help but scream, sing along or dance in appreciation of the various performances at the night.
Right from the commencement of the show through the very end, most of the audience that witnessed the concert cheered and greeted each performance with rapturous applause each time they finished with their performance amidst shout of joy.
