The University of Cape Coast has commissioned a 7-seater toilet facility for vendors at the Science market.
Commissioning the facility, the Pro-VC of the University, Prof. John Nelson – Buah, said the facility will conveniently serve traders at the market urging them to maintain high standards of cleanliness to avoid the contraction and spread of diseases.
”We must all adopt the attitude of cleanliness so that the market can be a better place for us all. If we do not keep the place tidy, then the houseflies will settle there and come and settle on the food being sold in the market”, he said.
The traders expressed their gratitude to the management of the University for the kind gesture.
”We are very grateful for the University’s effort in providing us with a public place of convenience that is going to prevent us from contracting deadly diseases in the market as it was happening previously. Our appreciation goes to the University for their support”, their representative said.
