The Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has accepted a proposal by the authorities of the University of Cape Coast to construct a fuel station on campus to cater for the fuel needs of members of the university community.
In view of this, the university has released a portion of land for the commencement of the project as soon as discussions between the two bodies were concluded.
This came to light when four officials of the company paid a working visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole in his office.
Welcoming the officials, Prof. D. D. Kuupole indicated that the University had realised the need to partner the private sector to develop a fuel station that could supply members of the university community with petroleum products for both official and personal use. He therefore expressed gratitude to GOIL for responding positively to UCC’s request.
For his part, the leader of the team from GOIL, Mr. Stephen Gyaben assured the Vice-Chancellor that as soon as documentation and the various procedures were concluded, work on the project would begin in earnest.
Present at the meeting were the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Nelson Buah; Deputy Registrar, Division of Academic Affairs, Mr. Jeff Teye Onyame; Deputy Registrar, Division of Legal Consular and General Services; Mr. Moses Abnory and the Deputy Director, Physical Development & Estate Management, Mr. Edward Dadzie.
