The Communication Studies department of the Faculty of Arts and College of Humanities and Legal Studies in the University of Cape Coast is ready to start a newspaper production by the end of October this year.
A lecturer in the department, Mr.Marcelinus Dery, who disclosed this to myJCR News said “the department wants to imbibe in students the habit of reading and to create a platform for students who read the Communication Studies programme to practise what they have been studying in class.”
He added that the production of the newspapers will be sustained if students take interest and purchase them.
Mr. Dery revealed the newspaper will be produced on monthly basis and sold at a price of GH¢ 2.00 per copy.
He concluded that plans have been put in place for the maiden copies to be produced by the end of October, 2014.
