Rev. Sister Florence Awoniyi an alumna of UCC, has presented a research she conducted on the challenges Nigerian students face during their studies in the University to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole.
Presenting the report, Rev. Sister Awoniyi explained that the study was an independent research that came out of pastoral concern for foreign students in general and in particular Nigerian students in UCC.
She indicated that during her post-graduate studies at UCC she was compelled to offer pastoral help to those who were struggling to adjust both to a new academic environment.
Rev. Sister Awoniyi appealed to the Vice-Chancellor to take time to read the document so that the university authorities would address the difficulties foreign students go through in their studies at UCC.
Receiving the report, the Vice-Chancellor commended Rev. Sister Awoniyi for taking interest in the welfare of the foreign students by conducting an independent research on them. He assured her that management would study the document and put in the necessary measures to make life on campus more comfortable and conducive to the foreign students.
