“Back up” I would simply say is to either duplicate a thing or store it elsewhere for future reference incase the original is destroyed. I trust you are familiar with “back up” as you might have backed up your information on your phone or computer at a point in time.
Back ups are very important. Have you backed up your future? Your answer may be yes because you have a good sum in your investment. Great, that’s a good way to back up your future according to the knowledge of this world. But my brother,my sister have you heard of rich men who ensured everything of theirs but have gone bankrupt? Or have you heard of the rich who seared for love in their old age but found none to the extent they couldn’t get even who to fetch them water? They used all the wisdom the world teaches yet failed. They backed up, but didn’t do it the best way.
My definition of backing up the best way is simply giving freely to the needy with no intention of been paid back. How many people have you helped? Yes you my brother, how many? You know that your roommate doesn’t eat a balanced diet but you have more than you can eat, you even throw the rest away when you know that boy is hungry. During morals you sing the accolade “Katanga solidarity”, “Cassford popos” and the likes but…
Have you bought pencils for that orphan in your area before? If no then you might be as rich as Solomon in all his splendour but if the unfortunate happens, you might not have any one to dry your tears.
The only wisdom thought by the Bible in regards to saving is to give. Several years after, you will reap in many folds. The Quran teaches the importance of giving alms to the poor.
My brother, have you realized how beautiful it is when a voice whisper to you for a benevolence act you might have than to that voice? Why wouldn’t you be eager to hear more and more of it? The fascinating assurance is even if the receiver of that act didn’t acknowledge it, God in his own wisdom will pay you well.
Back your future up in the smallest way you can. Buy pure water for somebody. Help that woman carrying that heavy load with a kid at her back. Pay the fare for that man the mate is threatening to alight from the car. Help that friend with a pen in the exam hall.
No matter where you find yourself, strive to help someone on your own capacity. That’s what backing up your life truly entails.
