We are now counting hours and all of you form SHS leavers will be making your debuts at campus. Trust me I know how it feels when you’re new in town and you actually want to act like you’ve been around for quite long. Am not saying that this is bad but on a sad note,  you my dear freshers decide to force yourselves and leave us with no better choice than looking at you in dismay with lines like “Huh! look, the cat is finally out of the bag!”

Sit back,  I bring you four steps that will help you stand out of the pack;

1. Work on your expression

Many freshmen decide to put on that tough look like they’ve just fought with an alligator, whilst the babes come in rolling eyes up and down as if its a pussy cat being teased with a saucer of meat as phrases like “OMG!!” not skipping their lips, this is so high school. Well, I know you’ve been caged in fences for the last few years but brother, don’t hit campus swinging your palm punches with imaginary hip-hop verses flowing through your head. Its not cool.

2. Drop that envelope now

I mean, why move around with brown envelopes just because you have your documents ready for registration? Is a small, easy bag that expensive? Put your envelope in a nice clean bag and only put it out when required.

3. Avoid moving in ‘gangs’

Look, am not saying you should isolate your self from your peers, but hey we all know your whole SHS 3 class made it to campus, but this doesn’t mean you must bounce through campus in swarms for goodness its so first-year! Get one or two peers and move along with those.

Campus is a good place to be, but even better if you know the rules of the game, don’t loose it while trying to look so cool.
