When freshermen are coming to school they are not only advised to learn but to also bring a “good guy“ home after school. So for some students, campus life is not all about books and chilling but finding a “good guy” and being grabbed to by potential husband is their headache.
The guys are not left out because if they miss the “September Rush”, they would have to walk extra miles to grab one of the beautiful ladies on campus.
As if the trouble is with only the grabbing, probably the worse happens during the relationship itself. Lots of suspicions, cheating, nagging, and lovers jostling and fighting over unnecessary things.
Since your partner won’t tell you what extra game he or she is playing in the dark, the “redeemer“ has always been the mobile phone. Calls, BBM, and WhatsApp are the commonest mode of communication among students on campus. It is undeniable fact that mobile phone “peeping“ by partners result in dozens of breakups every semester.
If Adam knew that the serpent would convince Eve to eat the fruit, he wouldn’t have let them alone to play…that time, animals were their source of happiness. Same happens to some lovers when they leave their phones with their partners.
Today, I embarked on a journey to find out from KNUST students whether or not they can leave their cell phones with their partners for just day. Below are some of the answers I received.
Mark Oppong Yeboah, a level 400 student of Republic Hall sincerely said NO because of some business calls he might miss.
Mavis Author of Brunei Hostel, a level 200 student also said NO because she has some friends on her phone that address her just the way her boyfriend does thus can bring misunderstanding.
Josephine, a level 400 student also of Brunei Hostel said NO because her boyfriend might read a wrong meaning to her messages.
Edmund Baah, a National Service Personnel said NO because “I will miss my games, messages and calls. In case a lady calls she will start making enquiries, fabricating and speculating.”
Samuel of Kotei,a level 200 student also said YES because he has got nothing to hide from her.
Marjorie Oteng, a level 200 student of Brunei Hostel said YES because she has got nothing to hide from her guy.
Kofi of Unity Hall, a level 100 student said ”I wont just give her but if she ask for it then I wouldn’t hesitate.”
What about your our cherished reader? Can you leave your phone with your partner for a day?
