First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me.
I wouldn’t sit and watch as my fellow students are being robbed, beaten and raped by armed robbers. Its no fault of theirs that they cant protect themselves.
I ask myself what if it was me and I expect you to do same. Directives have been given to hostel managers to provide security and yet what have we seen.
We are all crying for reduction in accommodation fees but do we know this would also increase the amounts we pay?
What is our fate when KNUST Security post does not pick calls at night; I have had first hand experience.
What is our fate when the police service have neglected parts of our campuses. What is our fate when we students sit aloof whiles our brothers and sisters are being hurt and robbed off their property.
I believe our fate is in our own hands. What can we do?; the million dollar question.
