Below is a message Hilary posted on his Facebook page (www.facebook.com/nanakofi):
Living with HER for 25years, I NEVER, not even once, witnessed her quarrel with ANYBODY. If today, someone talks of one evil thing SHE did, the person is a complete witch/wizard.
SHE loved and cherished all HER five (5) children and thousands of children I have never met before. Throughout HER 63 years on earth, ONLY three (3) things mattered…SERVICE TO HUMANITY, LOVE, and FORGIVENESS. No matter how severe, disgraceful, inhuman, or disgusting the intentional action of someone against me, the last person to talk to on earth, if I think of revenge, was my mum.
SHE will allow me to angrily talk about the matter with HER but there are two words that will surely come from HER mouth after all is said… “3NY3 WHEE” [“IT DOESN’T MATTER” in Twi language].
Anytime I reflect on how SHE departed in 2days after the graduation of HER last born, I cry. Together with husband, Hon. Kofi Owusu Dodoo, they laboured to ensure at least, a university education for ALL five (5) children.
Although, HER last two (2) children are now medical professionals from the University of Ghana, SHE didn’t even fall sick for my younger sister nor myself to prescribe even paracetamol. HER painful demise, through an accident, is something extremely painful to accept. Whenever I cry, I remember what SHE would have told me if SHE had a chance to speak to me before HER final departure to glory, KOFI, 3NY3 WHEE…TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF.
Loved by thousands. A mother of mothers has been called to glory. A mother of many Catholic priests and Christians is at rest. A Regional Best Teacher Award Winner cannot teach anymore. I remember how we ‘fought’ with HER, when SHE decided to continue teaching even after her retirement. My siblings did all we could to prevent her from teaching after her retirement. SHE insisted, saying “I don’t need the money for anything…” “I WON’T STAY HOME IDLE WHEN I CAN GIVE SOMEONE GOOD EDUCATION”.
Even at the age of 63 years, SHE was farming but the foodstuffs were not meant for her husband nor children…were for the needy in her hometown, Boanim.
To me, my mother was beyond a saint, SHE was a living angel. Yes, MADAM SUSANA OSAA, was a living angel who did not look for treasures of the world for herself, but lived as a true Christian for 63 years good years.
Ama Saa (the name I call her) has fought a good fight. Although the manner through which she departed has put me in deep sorrow, I will forever be grateful to God for being the son of such a God-fearing and lovely woman.
WE WILL CONTINUE TO LOVE AND CHERISH YOU MUM. YOU WERE A BLESSING…WE WISH YOU LIVED TO ENJOY THE FRUITS OF YOUR LABOUR. “3ny3 Whee” you will say. I KNOW YOU ARE AT HOME NOW…A BETTER PLACE. I WILL LIVE TO HONOUR YOU MADAM OSAA.
Rest in perfect peace beloved mum. I love you.
