The Voice Gh, a youth group which seeks to address social, political and legal issues affecting Ghanaians across the country, has successfully ended their “Help a Child Read” project which started on July 2, 2014. The project saw members of The Voice Gh teach students of The Victorian School at Teshie Maame in Accra how to read to improve their literacy levels.
At a ceremony to mark the end of the week long project, members of the Voice Gh donated over 200 books and pens to the school in addition to soft drinks and a cupboard to help the school shelf their new books.
Speaking to myJCR News, the President of The Voice Gh, Miss Adelaide Yiriyelleh, said the project would continue in the Ashanti and Northern regions of Ghana to help improve the literacy levels of school pupils in those areas.
The pupils and staff of The Victorian School were very happy for the project and applauded the work of The Voice Gh.
