The Private Universities Students’ Association of Ghana (PUSAG) has appealed to the Ministry of Education, to integrate them into the administration of tertiary education in Ghana. They said this should include the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), which has weakened the supportive role for the private Universities students of Ghana.
The appeal was contained in a statement issued by Mr Michael Sumaila, Media Relations Officer of the Association, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani.
“We are of the view that GETFund, which is a legitimate benefactor of all Ghanaian students must be equally beneficial and therefore, the private universities students must be part and parcel of the beneficiaries,” it added.
It congratulated Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, immediate-past Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, on her appointment as Minister of Education, and pledged to collaborate with her to achieve her goal of ensuring quality education in Ghana.
