The national executive of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) on behalf of the Central Committee (CC) which is the second decision making body of the Students Union in Ghana write to formally inform all students in Ghana that the Central Committee have resolved for a DEMONSTRATION at its last general meeting held at the University of Cape Coast on the 1st of July, 2014.

We are therefore by this notice directing all Students Representative Councils’ (SRCs) across the tertiary institution in Ghana and all students to converge at the Freedom and Just Park (Obra Spot) for this demonstration.

The following are the issues that necessitated for this overwhelming decision by the Central Committee:

1. POTAG’s two months strike.
2. The ailing state of GetFund.
3. The dying School Feeding Programme
4. Eminent closure of SHS’s due to government failure to pay subsides.
5. Lack of basic teaching and learning materials at the basic school level.
6. Nine months allowances owed our brothers and sisters on government scholarship abroad.
7. The school fees hikes on every tertiary institution.
8. Removal of Teacher and Nursing Trainees allowances
9. Etc.

Date: 30th July, 2014
Venue: Obra Spot near Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

All students should be in Red/Black attire.
Signed
Raymond Ayilu Kwojori (NUGS PRO – 0240383605).
