Below is the full statement
Undoubtedly one of the most complex, extensive and turbulent sector in our country is the Education sector. Aside it is a crucial area regarding the developmental aspirations and forward march of the nation.

It is thus very important, that whoever heads the Ministry must be a very competent person, with deep knowledge and insight as to the workings of that sector, and one who is tough and thick-skinned, due to the uneasy labour relationship in that sector.

Aside her rich experience and exposure, her brilliant performance during her vetting proves that Minister-designate for Education, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, is not only knowledgeable of the issues regarding the Education sector, but also has new ideas that she is bringing on board.

Her background does not only give her a solid grasp of the issues, but having risen to the high office of Vice Chancellor, also lets her appreciate the challenges that such high offices and officers face and/or are likely to face in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

My interactions with the Chief Director and his deputies and other staff of the Ministry, indicate a competent and dedicated group of people who are ready and willing to work with and support her and her deputy to succeed in the enormous task ahead.

Indeed the performance of the Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service shall be one of the most watched and observed in the next four years.

As a national student body, USAG looks forward to a close partnership and collaboration with her, her deputy and the Ministry of Education as whole to advance both the national and student development agenda.

USAG congratulates Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman on her nomination and successful vetting, and we believe she will receive massive endorsement from the people of Ghana through their representatives in Parliament. We wish her well and the whole Ministry well in the days and months ahead.
