The West African Examination Council (WAEC), has withheld the results of about 77 schools which took part in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) pending the conclusion of investigations.
A statement issued in Accra on Friday by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Principal Public Affairs Officer of WAEC, said the entire results of 2,769 individual candidates from other schools had also been withheld.
“The withheld results will be released as soon as the Council concludes investigations into examination irregularities committed,” it said.
However, provisional results of 391,420 out of 409,759 candidates who took the May/June 2013 WASSCE have been released and would be dispatched to the schools in due course.
It said the Council had also hosted the results online and candidates, who so desire, may access their results at the Council’s website.
The Council said following the request from the Ghana Education Service, the results of candidates who had outstanding school fees to settle had been blocked at the Council’s websites.
“The affected candidates should contact their heads of schools for their results,” it noted.
