However, the celebration of the 70th Anniversary will take place in March, 2016.

History of the HOPSA institutions

The Holy Child School was founded by three sisters from the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, Rev. Mother Mary Joachim, Mother Mary Cyril and Mother Mary St. Edward on March 5, 1946. These sisters landed at Takoradi on February 20th 1946 and steered the affairs of this new catholic institution for girls. The initial Holy Child School comprised of a Secondary School as well as a fully-fledged Training College, which took over the existing Sisters of Our Lady of the Apostles’ Training College. These two institutions currently run as two separate institutions with the Secondary School in Cape Coast and the Teaching College in Takoradi. They however stay true to their catholic teachings and their motto: ACTION NOT WORDS!
