Armed robbers Monday night attacked a bus which conveyed members of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) chapter of Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) to Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking to myJCR News on phone, an executive of PENSA-KNUST who preferred to remain anonymous said the bus was returning from Edwira to KNUST campus after conveying students who were taking part in the group’s Village Crusade 2014 programme when armed men on a motorbike signaled the driver to stop around 7:30pm.
The robbers opened fire at the driver when he failed to stop and managed to halt the bus. The two passengers in the bus managed to escape but the armed men robbed the driver of his mobile phone, money, and took away other items in the bus.
Thanks to God, there were no casualties during the attack.
The bus, which had been borrowed from Ghana Methodist Students’s Union (GHAMSU-KNUST) finally arrived in Kumasi and was sent to the workshop for the shattered windshield to be fixed.
The Village Crusade is an annual life saving crusade by PENSA-KNUST. This year’s crusade is being organised with the theme, “Jesus, the assurance of eternal life” and about sixteen (16) villages will be visited.
