The Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) branch at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is organizing a walk and sanitation exercise on Saturday 18th February at Kotei at 7:00am to initiate the association’s 2017 week celebration.
The GRASAG-KNUST week celebration starts from Saturday, 18th February to Tuesday 28th February 2017.
The walk is aimed at promoting healthy living lifestyles among its members and the general public. The sanitation exercise is also aimed at intensifying the awareness on keeping the environment clean.
According to the organizers, free t -shirts and beverage will be given to participants of the walk. Again, there will be a Waakye and Kenkey party after the activity. They are therefore calling on all members and the general public to participate in the exercise.
Some other activities outlined as part of the week celebration are:
Monday, 20th February, 2017- Public lecture and official Launching at College of Science Auditorium at 10am. Speakers: Prof. Kwasi Obiri Danso (KNUST Vice Chancellor, Chairman for the occasion), Prof. Stephen Adei (Author, Former Rector of GIMPA), Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai (Founder and President, Breast Care International BCI GH), Dr. Eric Owusu Mensah, CEO, Quama Foods (Yofresh). The programme will be live on Focus FM 94.3mhz.
Tuesday, 21st February, 2017- Donation to the Orphanage at 10am, intercollege Quiz Competition; Renovated GRASAG study Room at 5pm. This programme will also be live on Focus FM 94.3mhz.
Wednesday, 22nd February, 2017- Senior High Schools Mentorship Outreach; Ejisu Municipal under the theme “Say no to drugs and alcohol with Opanka and YABA (winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful, 2016) at 10am. There will also be The Fruit Hunt at the Graduate Hostel at 5pm. Fresh Fruits and Juice will be served for free.
Thursday, 23rd February, 2017- Skills exhibition and Health Screening, International night of culture at the Gradaute hostel at 5pm.
Friday, 24th February, 2017- Aponkye Soccer Cup (Intercollege) at Paa Joe Stadium at 9am. Winners will be awarded with a ‘giant’ goat, a trophy and other prizes. Food/refreshment (Item 13) will be given to those who attend the programme.
Saturday, 25th February, 2017- GRASAG socializing at KNUST poolside, starting at 9am.
Sunday, 26th February, 2017- Thanks giving service at PENSA KNUST.
