myJCR KNUST Team organised a Blood Donation exercise dubbed, Save a Life 12.1, at Republic Hall, KNUST, Kumasi in collaboration with KNUST Hospital to stock the Blood Bank of the Hospital.
The exercise which was held at the Forecourt of Republic Hall, KNUST on Saturday, 10th November, 2012 was highly patronised by students of the university and surrounding communities. Dozens of blood bags had been filled by 4pm on that day with people still in queues to donate. The program was the second health care exercise organised by the KNUST Team members of myJCR.com, a campus website for students in Ghana.
The exercise was hugely successful and the Team hopes to organise same every semester to help save lives at the KNUST Hospital and other health facilities. The first program organised by the Team was a Hepatitis B Screening and Vaccination Exercise in collaboration with Africa Hall, KNUST during its 44th Hall Week celebration in March, 2012. Saving lives through the organisation of Blood Donation exercises, Hepatitis B campaign, and HIV-AIDS awareness campaigns are the main social responsibilities of myJCR.
