University of Education Winneba made history on the 16th of April 2016 as the most rated campus event for the year 2016, dubbed “UEWGOPAP” which later changed to “UEWDEYPAP” came to light at the Jophus Anamoah-Mensah auditorium car park, north campus.
The event was organised by the SRC in partnership with Live 91.9 fm and Rush Energy drink.
The night saw artist such as the general himself Jupitar, the “yiwo dros” man Papi Kojo, Edem and the Amen singer Yaa Pono.
The event which the Live Fm crew at a point thought was going to be a flop due to the fact that students came late rather left them speechless. The event started around 10:30pm and ended at 3:30am.
First to perform on the night was Jupitar, followed by Papa kojo, Edem and Yaa pono who carried the night with 99.6 percent rating.
In all, lightening was on point, sound was crystal clear, the stage was solid, trust you me, one of the best ever seen. What about the MCs one may ask, well they did quiet well except that the talk was too much.
On the night however, the low moment was when out of ten campus artists, only three were allowed to perform after having gone through auditioning and series of sleepless nights of rehearsal. Thumps up to the likes of Decyple, Eckow Hunter and Krisick
Mr Edem Cudjoe, the deputy entercom on behalf of the entire SRC, elatedly expresses his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Live 91.9 fm and to all students for their unflinching support over the years and more especially during the just ended SRC Week Celebration 2016. He also commended the entertainment committee for their dedication, commitment and teamwork.
