An extract from the new Policy on Viral Hepatitis indicates that Ghana belongs to the areas where the prevalence of chronic Hepatitis B Virus infection (HBV) is high, that is greater than 8%.

It is therefore commendable that members of the Medical Students’ Association of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) have decided to focus on Hepatitis B during their upcoming week celebration.

The Association will embark on massive community outreach at Adaklu Waya, the administrative centre of the Adaklu District of the Volta Region, on Thursday, 9th February, 2017.

There will be education on Hepatitis B viral infection, screening, as well as vaccination.
