The University community is informed that with effect from the beginning of the 2015/2016 academic year, students will be required to register online both for their academic programmes and for their residence.
Continuing students
The system will work in the same manner as the academic registration in the MIS WEB interface, which students are already familiar with. Data on all resident students and non-resident students who may have been allocated rooms will be uploaded unto the system by UGCS before re-opening. After paying the requisite academic and residential facility user fees, students will confirm their rooms in the halls when the system is opened.
Fresh students
Using the Residential Allocation System, fresh students will select from available rooms in the halls. In the same MIS WEB interface, fresh students, having paid the requisite fees can then register for their academic courses and (where applicable) register for the rooms allocated to them via the Residential Allocation System. The online residential registration for fresh students will be open only after the list of admitted students has been published.
A complete step-wise process of applying for rooms will be issued soon by UGCS. Students will be informed about this new arrangement and the application processes through bulk text messages.
It is important for the community to note that the University will not be able to accommodate all fresh students both in the ten (10) UG owned Halls and the private hostels on campus.
The cooperation of all is needed for this cause.
